External applications resource links

This page is due to detail mostly open soure / free software which I currently use, for development and other purposes.
From a development perspective there are way too many ways to spend money on programs which have open source / freeware which does the same thing for free. Well worth a look see at least.

This and other links pages will probably build up over time to cover a whole range of subjects - should probably end up being data driven but at the moment it is not.
